Alternative solution
The rise project consists of a 23stry residential tower with commercial space on the ground floor and 4 levels of u/g parking. The building will be designed in accordance with 2012 OBC, article 3.2.2.42 group C, any height , any area sprinklered. The alternative solution proposal reviews the requirements of the standpipe riser to be located in a vertical service space separated from the adjacent floor area by a fire separation having a fire-resistance rating conforming to Table 2.6.3.1.(1Hr). The proposal addresses the required 1 hr fire separation with the use of a listed fire barrier wrap.
