Alternative solution
Based on our review of the conditions of the second, third and fourth storey's at 543 Yonge Street and the referenced documentation (see LRI Report 18347 dated November 11, 2016), a number of combination ionization photoelectric type smoke detectors connected to the existing fire alarm system are proposed to be installed on the second, third and fourth floors. These combination ionization-photoelectric type smoke detectors will serve to compensate for the fire-resistance time deficiency between the existing and required fire- resistance of the floor ceiling assemblies.
